  1. Long ago there lived a man name Patrick Lynch who had growing on his land what was known as a lone tree. This tree was looked upon by all the neighbours as something that should not be touched as the fairies were supposed to be seen around it. However the owner differed in his opinion and being short of firewood one day brought out an axe and cut down a branch of the tree. No sooner had he cut the second branch than he lost the sight of both his eyes. The
