    Half a nick half a day etc.
    The principal bottle dealer in the district was named Mooney from Trim, Co. Meath. His great grandchildren still carry on the same business.
    Navan market was on a Wednesday. Trim and Kells were on a Saturday and are still carried on. But motor delivery has practically put "paid" to Navan at least and Trim to a certain extent. But Kells has a very fine market weekly. In former time farmers, labourers and their wives travelled the former on a horse and cart the ladder on "neddy" to sell their butter and eggs. but wouldn't it take a big stretch of imagination to see them do it now.
