- There is no cobbler in the village now. Mr Martin was the last cobbler that was here. He came from Dunshaughllin, Co. Meath. A few years ago he lost the sight of one of his eyes and since then he has done no cobbling. He used to mend boots for Lord Dunsany. Mr. Reilly, Swainstown, Kilmessan, Co. Meath mend boots for some people. Patrick Boyle sometimes mends my boots. There was another cobbler in this village. His name was Mr. Flynn. He used to mend boots. There was also another shoemaker who lived at Furryhill, Kilmessan, Co. Meath. His name was Mr. Sheridan. He used to make boots and shoes.(continues on next page)
