  1. Why should we our praises exclusively render on scenes that are noted for beauty and splendour
    already reputed by tourist and writer,
    Whilst some more obscure might be purer and brighter.
    2. A rich looking valley well worthy of praise.
    Where nature untrammeled her frolics displays
    Lies modestly blooming between moorland and mountain.
    In the townland of Noughna with beauties abounding.
    3. The old name of Noughna is a rude indication
    of such a fine view as its beauteous plantation
    So highly improved under sound cultivation,
    and hence we must choose one to suit the occasion.
    4. But nature has furnished material to name,
    In that gay looking landscape so congenial to fame.
    In that gay looking relic of Sylvan creation
    So Bushyvale smiles in its sweet appellation.
    5. This vale is surpassing for soft recreation
    A place more romantic there is not in this nation
    There is health in the breeze from its sweet vegetation.
    With Springs evergreen to relieve the sensation.
