  1. Clothes Made Locally
There are no tailors in this parish now. There were three tailors here some years ago one in the village and two north of the village.
The country tailors would travel from house to house and remain at each farmer's house until the clothes of that townland were made.
These country tailors rarely stocked cloth though the village tailor stocked a little.
The implements the tailors used were:
scissors, measuring tape, needles, thread and buttons.
Shirts are still made in may houses of flannel or flannelette.
Some men up to very recently wore a white flannel waistcoat called a "bawneen". It was made without buttons and tied at the bottom at a knot.
On special occasions people wore a coat called a "swallow-tailed coat" and a high hat called a "beaver hat".
    Stockings are still made locally.
