Their breakfast consisted of potatoes and thick milk, for dinner a fine table of potatoes and some milk with an addition of meat or fish. For supper they had stirabout made from coarse meal with some milk.
The people in those days had to rise early in the morning and had to do five or six hours work before having any food.
Potatoes weer sometimes used twice or three times a day and also milk was a great part of their daily food.
At meal time the table was always placed in the centre of the floor and when finished hung up against the wall.
