The murderer was never known. This happened about the year one thousand, eight hundred and eighty four, the same year as Yellow George signed the warrant. Down at Fortview there is a headstone with Yellow George's name encarved on it. Yellow George got this headstone put there in the year one thousand, eight hundred and eighty six. The land is now bought by the Land Comission with the exception of a farm at Gortnagroe where a Draper man lives and a farm in Sparragradda where a man named Mahony lives. These farms still belong to Wood and Mahony and Draper are caretaking them for him. Another lot of land in Fortview still belongs to Wood and a Swanton man is caretaking it.
