    'Twas on the First of January the date being for the year
    When Scott gave information that Whiteboys would appear.
    Twenty thousand Orangemen marched on their proud array.
    Commanded by Lord Bantry to fight at Céim an Fhiaidh.
    We had a brave Commander, he aspired to high renown
    He was a brother to the Earl, and a friend to guard the crown?
    He displayed his skill to gain the hill but quickly ran away
    We lay Smith in a bloody gore on the plains of "Céim an Fhiaidh".
    My poor heart was broken, I could no longer stand.
    I was forced to leave my country, far from my native land
    I was forced to leave my county as you may plainly see
    And I hope the Lord will follow
