  1. A shoemaker is a man who mends old boots and makes new ones.
His trade is unhealthy because he is inside all day. He has a bench with all his tools on it. The tools are a last, hammer, nails, awls, a knife leather and sprigs and waxend.
The shoemaker does not make many boots because they are nearly all made in the factory. A shoemaker is a good trade only he has to sit in the one place at his work. He is a very useful man in the country only for him we would have to wait to get our boots mended when we go to the town. It is a good trade for making money.
