before a thunder storm, the air gets very close and warm with hardly a breath of wind. Then suddenly a breeze springs up with a queer moaning sound somtimes like very plaintive music, and immediately after comes a fine thunder storm with a plentiful sprinkling of lightning flashes.
The signs of snow are a severe cold wind from the North - east a very dark overcast sky.
The signs of frost are:- the smoke travels straight up from chimneys, a very clear cloudless sky, the stars very brilliant and severe cold.
