  1. The Local fairs are held in Coolaney, Collooney, Ballymote and Tubbercurry,
    Buyers did transact business in the country at farmers houses and at cross roads occasionally.
    This is still done when animals are scarce and in good demand at the markets
    No fairs were held formerly which have now being discontinued.
    The towns fairs are held in a special fair place called the "Fair green"
    Tool is paid on cattle sold this money is called "Custom" It is collected at the enterance to the fair green It is paid to the owner of the field which is used as a fair green
