  1. Potatoes are grown on our farm
About an acre of land is sown under potatoes each year
The amount as a rule dose not varies.
    My father prepares the ground.
If the soil is poor farm-yard manure is put on it before ploughed.
Sometimes the potatoes are sown in ridges and rarely in drills.
To make the ridge the land is ploughed, every five scrapes forming a ridge.
Between every two ridges there is a furrow.
To prepare the drills the land is ploughed, then harrowed then ploughed again every two scrapes being turned together to form a drill.
