  1. The local fairs are held in: Sligo, Ballintogher, Coollooney, Grange and Ballisodare.
    The fairs are held in the fair greens and sometimes there is cattle sold and bought on the streets.
    There is toll money paid at the fair green gale coming out and any man that does not pay will not be allowed to bring out the cattle off the fair green. The toll is two-pence for every animal and there is a ticket given for every two-pence.
    There is a shilling or a half-crown given to the man that buys the anumal for lucks money.
    When selling an animal the owner always askes more than what it is worth.
