  1. Years ago there was a man and his wife living in Kylemore who were fond of going to parties. One evening the wife was going to a ladies party to Tipperary. At that time there were no motor cars and she drove her pony and trap, no one going with her as they had no servant boy.
It was late when she returned home. When her husband asked her how she got on she said that the pony was sick and took a long time to come home. He then went out to the stable to see what was wrong with the pony and found it was not their pony she brought home. Early next morning she went to Tipperary to find her own pony was taken by another lady in mistake and she got back her own.
Some time later there was a gentleman's party in the same place and the husband went he returned he was very jolly. His wife said to him you must have had a great time and he said I had but I made sure to bring home my own pony anyhow.
