  1. There was a man born in Ballygowan who composed verses. He had a little hut in Ballingar. He had taimed fish and he could call out the fishes by their names. His name was Mick Mullin. He wrote verses. On one stone he wrote : 'Remember man as you pass by, as you are now so once was I as I am now so shall you be, remember man eternity.' There was another man named Patrick Felle. He composed a song about the evictions of Ballygowan.
