    first came to Ireland. Once when the Friar was coming across the Mouldy Hill from Buncrana to the Bosom, he was captured by pagan soldiers and killed in Barne's Gap and was buried there. A few days after this burial the well sprang up at his feet. From that day to this it never goes dry. Every person who passed his grave threw on a stone until there was a big heap. The well is called Friar's Well.
