  1. The Robin is said to have pulled a thorn out of Our Lord's forehead. As it did so a drop of his blood fell on its breast, and all Robins since have had a red breast.
    The Vulture, when Mary and Joseph and Our Lord were going to Egypt, brushed away the tracks of their feet with its wings. When the soldiers came they did not know which way to go.
    There is a flower called the Crown Imperial. It is said that when Our Lord was being crucified all the flowers closed but the Crown Imperial did not. So ever since it has hung its head.
