    The men used to play Cammon. They played it on Sundays during the winter and on Christmas day. They had an even number on each side , generally eleven. One townland played against another. They played the match in anybodys field they chose. They called their goal posts gallies. They had a referee. He shouted instead of whistling. Their sticks were like hurley sticks.
