  1. There are numerous stories told about hidden treasure in Ireland. There is scarcely a townland with which these legends are not connected. The treasures are generally supposed to be hidden in under cairns, raths and castles.
    There are two stories told in Fahan about hidden gold, and two about the finding of gold. People say that gold is hidden in a farm in Craigtown belonging to Mr Joe Ferguson. Mr Joe Adams is said to have put it there ninety years ago. When he was dying he told
