    names:-
    The boards are called the staves, the rims that are around it are called hoops, the top of it is called the cribs.
    In winter the milk is churned once a week. In summer if it is not sent to the creamery it is churned twice a week.
    It usually takes an hour in a hand churn, and a quarter of an hour in a turning churn.
    Without the churn the people would have to send all their milk to the creamery.

  2. Were it not for the forge the farmer would not be able to get his implements repaired.
    There are a number of forges in this district namely : - Boylan's, Mc Cabe's, and Fitche's, the best known of these is Jack Boylans.
