- (continued from previous page)The smith that is in this forge was a smith from his young days, and his father was a smith, and his grandfather was also a smith.It is a slated dwelling, and the door is painted red.He usually makes, ploughs, grubbers gates, horse's shoes, drill harrows, harrow pins, and spade heads. He shoes horses, asse's slipes, and barrows.Paddy Boylan, Lasnaclay has the cure of the ricketts. Forge sparks or forge water is a cure of the warts.
Without the local forge the farmer would have to go a long way to get his implements repaired.
- There are a number of tailors in this area, namely - : James Nulty Shercock Paddy Mc Cann Drumnave[?] and Ned Duffy Drumchonion.Long ago the tailors went from house to house and sewed all the material with their hand's.(continues on next page)
