    About a hundred years ago a very severe wind storm took place.
    Hiouses were knocked down and large trees rooted from the ground.
    Stacks of corn and hay were carried for miles.
    It has been called the night of the big wind, and there are very few living today who remember that night.

  2. The Industries of today are very much different from thise which were carried on sixty, or seventy years ago. At that time weaving was a great industry. The people would sit up at night to work at it.
    Mrs Briens would sit up the night long crocheting.
    At that time there were forges:- Peter Boylan, Derrygoony, made gates, ploughs, horse shoes, and Jack Boylan Larkin did likewise.
