- Thistles are the most harmful weeds growing on our farm.
They spread rapidly and they impoverish the soil in which they grow. They grow mostly in corn and in dry fields. Rag-weed grows in poor land and are found also on hills. Certain herbs have medicics medicinal properties.
Chick0weed will cure consumption. Nettle-tea will cure measels (meales).
Dock-weed and rag-weed boiled and drank will cure jaundice,
Bog-bean boiled and rubbed to the place where the pain is or drank will cure rheumatism.
There are special herbs for to cure animals of certain diseases.
Sufferers were always relieved or cured by this means.
Some of the herbs are poison and are very dangerous.
Most of these herbs were used for curing people.
