  1. When rain is approaching the smoke goes against the wind and birds fly low. The river near-by roars and dogs eat grass and storks fly very high. The soot in certain chimneys falls down and the walls get damp.
Before a storm of wind pigs make great holes in the ground and hide in them. Cats sit with their backs to the fire.
Before good weather comes the smoke goes up straight and the sun sets red. When we hear a bell plain there is going to be good weather. Mogy's Leap roars loudly before rain.
The goat comes home before a storm. A blue blaze in the fire and the wind groaning in the chimney is the sign of rain. When a cat is washing her face with her paw and if she puts her paw across her ear it is the sign of rain.
