Ar an leathanach seo

  1. People use proverbs when they are addressing each other or when they are quarrelling among themselves. The old proverbs were never written down in books. They are still used by the old folk. The following are a few of them.
    You are talking through your hat.
    "Cut Fáinne" This is saying is usually applied to a person when he would hear something that would not please him.
    "We had lán abhaile" This saying is used by people after they had a big feed.
    "He will stretch out."
    "She had the firgéalte" meaning that she was hungry.
    "Thats a good day for young ducks."
    "Bit of me knows."
    "Sowkans to him."
    "Give us a breeze."
