  1. One day a man was out shooting fish. All his cartridges were used so he filled the gun with haws. He went down to a lake and he saw a big fish. He shot at he fish and hit it but he did not kill it.
    The fish swam away and the man went home. The next years he was out fishing and he saw the fish with haw-thorn bushes growing out of its back. It was the haws had taken root in the fish and into bushes.
