Ar an leathanach seo
- Long ago pipes were made at O Connolls Kilavalla. They were like the chalk pipe but smaller with long stems made of very hard substance. Other pipes were called the "crow footpipe"
These were made with the shin representing the stem and the toes spread out holding the head of the pipe.
Other old men made pipes for themselves out of briar with cherry stems.
Men working in Kilavalla about 40 years ago dug up a cart load of those pipes when digging a hole They said they were useless for smoking as they got too hot.
