  1. There is a Quarry in Coolonan. About sixty five years ago there were three houses in the Quarry, my grandmother's my great grandmother's and O'Leary's. These houses were built with stones lime and sand.
There was also a lime Kiln on this quarry. Robert White used to light the Kiln. Many people bought the lime. This lime was very good. This kiln was in use up to about sixty years ago.
There was a big platform on the top of the quarry. Many people attended this platform. Some people played melodians and fiddles for the dancers.
Stones were taken from this Quarry for the Boher Mór Road. This is the road which leads to Ballypatrick. It was made during the famine times. The stones in this quarry are still used in road making.
My Mother owns the quarry it always belonged to our family.
