    The local people do not help one another in sowing potatoes.
    After the potatoes are earthed up nothing more is done for them except to spray them with the mixture of "blue stone" and washing soda to prevent blight.
    The men dig the potatoes in the Autumn and the women and children pick them.
    The potatoes are stored in pits in the field. The heap is triangular in section.
    The Potatoes grown here are Kerr Pinks, Arran Banners, Arran Victors, Irish Queens, and Flounders.
    It was on Cloverhill district Champions were first introduced to this country.
