  1. The reason why a small bird follow's the cuckoo is this. The cuckoo never makes her own nest and when she gets the small bird away she lays her own egg's in the nest. When the young come out the little cuckoo throws out the little young birds. The mother think's it is her own and follow's it. This is the reason why the small bird follow the cuckoo
    When the bat flies about it is the sign of good weather. If he never flies about it is the sign of rain. When the wild geese fly from the East and settle in the Bog of Allen this denotes high wind or a snow storm.

    These birds are called the seven sleepers. They only come to country about the end of April and only stops the seven months and then fly away to warmer countries.
