This is the name of the townland in which the school is built. It got it's name from "Doimhin" which means a deep valley. The hills surrounding this valley are the Crosserlough hills, Lavey hills, Lehary rocks, Sliabh Glah mountain, Denmore hill and Ardkill hill.
Drumbarry.
This is the name of a townland joining Denbawn. It got it's name from the Irish words, "Drum - á - bhárrai" which means the high ridge of crops.
Glancurran.
This is the name of a townland about a mile and a half from the school. It got its name from the Irish words "Gleann currán" which means the valley of the hook because it is in the shape of a hook.
Derry.
Derry is the name of a bog nearby It got it's name from the Irish word "Dair" an oak. Long ago this was a a forest of oak trees and hence it(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Faisnéiseoir
