  1. The old people believed in a lot of different cures. Here are a few examples.
    Boils.
    Boils. Get a leech and let him suck it.
    Sore throat. Get a hairy worm in a stocking and wrap it round your throat.
    Thorns.
    Put a foxes tongue on the thorn and it will be drawn out.
    Sore eyes.
    Leaves of penny leaf boiled and rubbed on the eyes.
    Warts.
    Put as many stones in a bag as you like. If you have warts and leave it on the road. The finder gets the warts.
