- There was a church - a slated one - here. It was levelled to build the present school. It ran from the road up to the present shed. In fact, the back of the shed was the end-wall of the Church. The shed is where the Altar used to be. There are priests buried there - probably near the mound where the white-thorn tree grows.At the time the Church was here the school was in the present play-ground (girls) - and faced the road.There was a Church in Davidstown at a much earlier date. It was situated on the present Valentines' land - under the road. This was a thatched Church. The soliders stabled their horses in the Church in '98.
