- The name of my townland is Mount Lucas. It is situated between Daingean and Edenderry. There is a mount there and the former owner was named Lucas. He was a landlord. An old school boy gave it its name. There are ten houses in it and twenty eight people. All the houses but two are slated. Paul Dunne , Mountlucas, Daingean, Offaly, Michael King and his wife Mary are over seventy. They do not know Irish. Michael King and Paul Dunne can tell English stories.
The land is good and hilly. The Daingean river flows through it.
