    Patrick Reilly, Camross, near
    Foulksmills, Co. Wexford was also a poet. His songs were The Mummers, and the Adamstown Hurlers. Patrick Reilly was born about 1880.
    Bill Whelan had no fixed residence. He was a good poet his songs were the Old Age Pensions and The Mummers. Among all his songs and verses the following verse comes in
    Garrett Byrne will you do a good turn,
    For years in your shop I've been dealing,
    If you want to have fun, give a glass of good rum.
    To your poor old friend Bill Whelan.
    Bill Whelan died in the County Home and was buried near it.

  2. Over twenty years ago there was a poet around this locality named Bill Whelan. He was a tramp and earned his living by making songs.
    He was born in Shillelagh, Arklow, Co. Wicklow.
