- Colds:- Make a drink of herb called Heart-tongue, ponnycup, ivy and flax-seed. Sugar (brown)must be mixed with the herb. Boil and strain them and drink the liquid as medicine. Sore throat:- Roast salt and put it in a stocking and then put on the person's neck until it gets well. Rheumatism:- Eat raw lemons, beginning with one the first day, two the second day, three the third. Then stop for a few days. Then start again with one and so on until finally you are well. (Note) Sugar nor anything else, not to be used with lemons. Toothache: Stick a snail on the thorn of a gooseberry bush, until it decays. As the snail decays, the toothache goes away. Cataract on the eye:
Get St John's Herb or Eyebright which is usually found in potato ground. Pound it up and strain the juice through a muslin cloth. The white of an egg is mixed with that. Get it on top of a spoon and drop a small a small drop into the eye.(continues on next page)- Collector
