  1. St Iberius was the oldest of the Wexford Churches.
There are no remains whatever of it,
Its site is occupied by the modern Protestant Church, which was erected according to Lewis in the latter part of the eighteenth century.
It contains a number of memorial tablets. One tablet to "The venerable John Elgee LLB Archdeacon of Leighlin and Rector of the United Parishes of Wexford and Rathaspick. Died 4th Nov, 1823. Erected by his affectionate friends and parishioners".
Archdeacon Elgee was the father of "Speranza" Lady Wilde one of the most spirited of Irish Patriot poetesses.
She was the mother of Oscar Wilde.
He poems written during the awful period of the great famine of 1847 are terrible reading.
