Ar an leathanach seo

  1. There is supposed to be a buried treasure in the townland of Dungulph about three hundred yards South-East of Dungulph Castle by the side of the road.
    The treasure was put there by the Irish in the year 1649, a short time before Oliver Cromwell landed at Dublin. It is thought locally that it was placed there because they feared the Cromwellians might get the treasure.
    Two attempts have been made to unearth it, Robert Banville, James O'Rourke, Martin O'Leary and others attempted to unearth it. At the first attempt they were frightened by a man, who put a white sheet over his head.
    When the man who frightened them was found out a second attempt was made, I think by the same persons. They got some thread and put it in a circle about the place where they were about to dig and sprinkled Holy Water. When they were in the middle of their work, something like a crow or a small black hen flew out of the ivy-covered tree, that was above them but some say that they
