    There is a holy well at Killasonna called St. Vincent well and it is said that several people were cured by it. The people of this district used to boil the roots of red nettles and eat them for to cure measles. A cure for mumps is to put a winkers on the person and lead it in and out to a pig sty three times.
    A cure for a hiccough to take a few grains of salt. The seventh son has a cure for ring-worm. A child that is born after its father's death has a cure for a sore mouth. The cure for a whooping cough is to put the patient under a black ass three times.
