The Care of the Feet 3rd March 1938 Long ago people never wore boots or shoes very often and at the present day the children go barefoot during the Summer months but they wear boots during the rest of the year.
When people wash their feet the throw out the water but at night they would be afraid that they would throw it on the fairies.
Boots are not made or repaired in this district and the nearest shoe-maker lives in Granard.
There were more shoe-makers long ago than there are now because there were not so much boots coming in from other countries long ago.
Clogs were worn long ago and they are worn still. My father told me the principal parts of this and I knew the rest of it myself.
