  1. The ruins of Moydow Nunnery are at the back of Bawn House, a large building, which has been unoccupied for many years. It is said that Saint Patrick left Mel in Ardagh and his sister in Druimchee to the West of the mountain called Bri Leith in charge of a Convent there. Slieve Golry which is about a qarter of a mile from this school is between the ruins of Saint Mels church at Ardagh, and the Moydow Convent. It is said that Mider a noted fairy belonging to the Tuatha Dedannan's had his Tir-na-n og within this mountain.
    There is also the ruins of a castle at Castlerea Moydow parish of Ardagh Co Longford. It is situated on very high ground and
