There is a large wood on the Leinster side of the town called Glynwood, this was part of Lord Castlemaine's property. There is another on the Connaught side beyond Drum, called Ardkeenan. It is so called,because when the people, long ago, coming to Clonmacnoise reached this wood, they saw the towers of Clonmacnoise in(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
