- Care of the Feet.
People did not wear boots till they were twenty years of age. In some country districts people, most children, go bare-foot in the Summer time still. The shoemaker usually made the boots, but sometimes people made their own boots of 'braseldry' leather, which was very strong and coarse. Sometimes boots were only worn on one day of the week - Sunday. Clogs were worn, they were made of wood and leather. The soles were wooden with bits of iron or tin round the edges.
Mr. Logan of Church St. made boots, also Mr. Hopkins of the present Pearse Street.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Faisnéiseoir
