- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)The water, in which the feet were washed, was not thrown out but left outside the door and a coal put into it. Some people say it was poured on rose bushes. The water was poured quietly and the expression 'push-over' was used.
Sometimes people wore the untanned skin of a cow laced together so that it was easy for them to walk on stones. A stocking without a sole was sometimes worn over the boot.
Such expressions as 'huslers', 'spags', [troigtin] and 'push-over' are known, also ['raoibin'].
The above was collected from Mrs. Hyland, St. Brigid's Tce, Mrs. Kenny, Percy Cottages and others.- Faisnéiseoir
