Ar an leathanach seo
- Such work as candle making was done long ago in our district. They made them from fat and rushes, tied them in bundles and left them over the fire until they were dry. Then they pealed them. They left a piece of the skin on the back and sapped them in fat.
They also made soap from caustic soda and melted fat. They mixed them together.
Baskets were made from sally rods and were used as clists for carrying turf and they were used for other purposes also.
Leather was tanned in Mullingar in a place(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
