Ar an leathanach seo
- Once upon a time there lived in Ardan an old woman whose name was Kate Hackett. She lives beside a bog which we pass on our way to school; the ruins of her cottage are still to be seen.
She was odd in many ways and kept a herd of goats. She believed in keeping them in the house with her.
She was always knitting and she would never have the ball of wool anywhere but on the floor. Even when she went to visit her neighbour next-door she would leave the ball at home and you would see the long line of wool along the road from her house to the neighbour's house.
