Ar an leathanach seo
- Long ago teas was never used except at Christmas. People were fined if they were known to have it in their houses as it was considered a stimulant. Their bread was made of Indian meal. They used to mix it with a thing called sowens.
This was made of potatoes a little flour and water. It was kept steeping in a crock and water added to it from time to time.
The women used to carry the butter in small tubs on their heads to Mullingar. In the Summer time they used to bury the cleaves of butter in the bog to keep it cool when the could not(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
