- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)ever happened.An awful disease called "The Collara" reached our village in the famine years. This disease was brought in first by a showman named Farrelly but it only got as far as the middle of the town because the priest stopped it from going any further.
- It is said that the "Spire of Llyode" was build with the relief money during the Penal Days. There is a big pot in Tom Fay's yard which was used for boiling the porridge in during the famine.
