- There is a mass rock at Rathloghan and mass used to be said there during the penal laws. There was a very holy priest in that District who bough an altar stone for it and he would say mass on it every morning. He died in the year 1416 and when the hearse was passing the rock the horses stopped on the road and could not begot to move. Then the voice of the dead man said, 'I will not go without my altar stone.' The altar stone had to be put on his grave. Four fairies were seen saying mass on it. His friends went for a priest and when the priest came the rock was a heap of sand.
