When the sky is red at night in the west the next day will be warm. If the sky is red in the east in the morning we will have rain that day.
A halo round the moon it is a sign of rain.
When there are stars in the sky at night it is a sign of frost. If a cat washes behind his ears it is the sign of approaching rain. When he sits with his back to the fire it is a sign of storm. A blue blaze in the fire is a sign of storm. When we see wild geese we say there is storm abroad. When the smoke is seen going up straight from the chimneys it is a sign of rain.
When the glow-worm lights her lamp then the air is always damp.
When the peacock loudly bawls then we'll have both rain and squalls.
